While the Mile High City may be world-renowned for hiking, skiing and snowboarding — and for good reason — there are many other great ways to enjoy Denver during the winter months.

No matter your preferred style or skill level, chances are we’ve got just the descent for you. Don’t miss checking out Breckenridge, Vail, Copper Mountain and Winter Park during your visit.
Not interested in braving the snow? No problem. Denver’s local museums offer locals and visitors alike a wide variety of opportunities to learn and be entertained. Most are concentrated downtown, but a few that are very worth visiting are a bit off the beaten path. You’ll want to check out the the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Denver Art Museum, Molly Brown House, Denver Aquarium, and the Children’s Museum of Denver while you’re here.

Denver’s famous beer culture springs from the pure, mountain stream-fed local water supply. Some of the best breweries in the world make their homes here so they can start with the best H20. As such, the metro is brimming with brewpubs, microbreweries, and even a few national names. Be sure to check out the tours (and samples!) at places like Wynkoop Brewing, Blue Moon Brewing Company, Denver Beer Co., Great Divide Brewing Company, and Black Shirt Brewing.
As mentioned, Denver is famous for our hiking — and for good reason. Hitting the trails is a spectacular way to spend the day any time of year but trekking the trails in the winter is an entirely singular experience. There are many great hikes in and around the metro, so pack some boots, poles and GORP. Some of the most popular winter hiking spots include Elk Meadow Park, Red Rocks Park, Castlewood Canyon State Park, and Rocky Mountain State Park.
